Connecticut officials accept political nominations

HARTFORD - The Democratic and Republican parties gave their nominations for governor today.

Former Stamford city mayor Dan Malloy won the Democratic nomination over Greenwich businessman Ned Lamont who says he will run against Malloy in the August primary.

Tom Foley won the Republican nomination for governor over Lt. Governor Michael Fedele who will still challenge Foley in the primary.

Stamford lawyer and former Senate Majority leader George Jepsen was nominated for state attorney general. Incumbent State Comptroller Nancy Wyman was given the nod for lieutenant governor but will face Simsbury First Selectman Marry Glassman to force a primary.
