Continuance granted in officer's hearing

STRATFORD - A disciplinary hearing will resume Friday for the Stratford officer who crashed his patrol car last June due to a seizure.

An attorney for Officer Justin LoSchiavo says they agreed to a continuance in order to get testimony from the doctor who most recently examined the officer. The federally mandated disciplinary hearing for LoSchiavo will continue in the afternoon. LoSchiavo's seizure-causing disorder was noted during his application process. He has been on light duty for more than seven months since his crash.

The town has 15 days to make a decision on LoSchiavo's fate once the hearing is finished.
