Convicted felon arrested in Norwalk traffic stop

NORWALK - Police say they have arrested a convicted felon after a loaded gun was discovered under his car's front seat during a routine traffic stop.

Derrick McCoy, 22, was pulled over during a routine traffic stop on Concord Street when his car's license plates didn't match up with the vehicle. Police say they arrested McCoy for a long list of motor vehicle violations, as well as discovering a loaded gun under his front seat.

He was arraigned today and is currently being held on $150,000 bond.

Police are still looking for McCoy's passenger who fled on foot and who they say could be potentially armed. They are asking if anyone has information of his whereabouts to contact them at 203-854-3001.
