BRIDGEPORT - Police say they have arrested the man suspected in a gas station robbery this morning after a foot and car chase.

According to authorities, Cumberland Farms on East Main Street was robbed at around 9 a.m. They say the suspect then took off through Beardsley Park and was taken into custody nearby at Noble Avenue and Alpine Street.

Many neighbors say they're proud of how fast witnesses and the police department responded.

Cumberland Farms management declined to comment on the incident and officials say they are still investigating.
