Cops search for owner of attacking pit bull

STAMFORD - Stamford police are searching for the owner of a pit bull that attacked a woman and her two children, sending the mother to the hospital.

"The only thing that was going through my mind was saving my children," says Miriam Pelaez.

Pelaez says she was walking her children to day care Wednesday when a pit bull approached her and tried to come after one of her children, who was in a stroller.

She says her son was knocked over and her daughter fell out of the stroller. Pelaez says the pit bull then attacked her arm and stayed latched on until a bystander pulled the dog off her.
