Crews battle house fire on Arcadia Avenue in Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT - Firefighters battled flames early Saturday morning at a home in Bridgeport.
Authorities say the fire broke out at around 2 a.m. at 111 Arcadia Ave. It took about three hours for crews to get the flames under control.
Firefighters say their water froze almost instantly after hitting the ground, requiring them to put down salt to keep from slipping.

Investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire, although the homeowner says it may have started in a ceiling fan on the home's second floor.
Officials say one of the home’s residents was treated for smoke inhalation at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Firefighters say the Red Cross is helping the family who rented the house.
