GREENWICH - Greenwich officials say crews will have to wait until Monday to pull a construction excavator from the Long Island Sound.

Chopper 12 was above the scene near Field Point Circle at around 10 a.m. on Friday morning.

Officials say the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and firefighters worked to get the machine out of the water, but that they can't get it out until low tide.

The equipment was being used to build a rock jetty when it got stuck on the beach and pulled out by the water.
