Some state lawmakers are taking a closer look at Connecticut's self defense laws. House Speaker Brendan Sharkey says he wants to make sure a situation

HARTFORD - Some state lawmakers are taking a closer look at Connecticut's self-defense laws.

House Speaker Brendan Sharkey says he wants to make sure a situation like the confrontation between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin does not happen in Connecticut.

Sharkey plans to talk with police and community groups to review state laws and, if necessary, make changes during the legislative session in February.
