STRATFORD - Police cars raced around in Stratford today, but they weren't pursuing any perpetrators. Instead, they were racing each other.

Four police chiefs and one captain from southwestern Connecticut participated in an annual off-road race to raise money for the Special Olympics. The chiefs were from Norwalk, Bridgeport, Fairfield and Trumbull, and the captain was from the Stratford Police Department.

Defending champ Fairfield won again this year, clocking in at 53.4 seconds.

The event was organized by the Fairfield County Sports Car Club.
