CT unemployment drops below 9 percent

HARTFORD - For the first time in two years, the state's unemployment level has dropped below 9 percent.

The state Labor Department says Connecticut's unemployment rate dipped to 8.9 percent last month.

Officials say Connecticut added 3,400 jobs in September, mostly in the leisure and hospitality sectors.
