CONNECTICUT - Connecticut voters will be asked this November to decide if they should hold a convention to consider amendments to the state constitution.

Some issues that would be discussed at the convention include same-sex marriage and the ?direct initiative;? a proposal that would allow citizens to petition a vote on pretty much any issue.

Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz says these issues are very important.

?If we do hold a constitutional convention, that will probably cost more than $2 million to hold,? says Bysiewicz. ?That?s what it cost in 1965 and obviously prices have gone up.?

Convention supporters are saying it would be worth the time and money to give people a more direct say over their lives.
