CT woman concerned about safety of relatives in Japan

As the nuclear crisis in Japan continues, a Greenwich woman says she is growing concerned for her family that lives near the stricken Fukushima Dai-ichi

GREENWICH - As the nuclear crisis in Japan continues, a Greenwich woman says she is growing concerned for her family that lives near the stricken Fukushima Dai-ichi power plant.

Harumi Stewart says she was born and raised in the Fukushima Prefecture, and her relatives still live there.

"I feel guilty that I do everyday stuff when my family is not getting the basic stuff," she says.

As a Japanese woman, she says it is not her custom to show a lot of emotion, but considering what's happened to her loved ones who lost everything in the tsunami, she's speaking publicly about them for the first time since the disaster.

"They're too old to borrow money to build a house," she says. "They just have nothing."

Stewart says she is praying for the safety of her family.
