NORWALK - First responders from all over the country biked their way through Connecticut Monday to pay tribute to fallen heroes.

Police officers and firefighters started what's called the Brotherhood Ride in Maryland on Sunday. They were in Connecticut by Monday morning.

The ride's founder, Jeff Forse, says that the ride is to make sure people never forget those who lost their lives while serving their communities.

This year, 27 first responders from the Northeast are being honored. Among them is Kevin Bell of the Hartford Fire Department.

The group's ride today marks day four of the six-day journey from Maryland to Massachusetts. By the time they are done, the cyclists will have traveled over 500 miles.

The cyclists will spend the night at the Elks Lodge in Westbrook. From there, they will continue to their finishing point in Boston on Wednesday.
