HARTFORD - A judge has denied a request by Democratic candidate for governor Dan Malloy to get additional public campaign funds.

Malloy's request was denied because a judge recently declared the state's public financing program unconstitutional because it tied those funds to how much money an opponent spent.

Malloy had asked the judge to grant him funding under the old program until the law is fixed.

State legislators are expected to try and override a veto of a plan to fix the law tomorrow. The state Senate has already voted to override Governor Jodi Rell's veto of the plan.
