DANBURY - ? The victim of a carjacking that ended in a fatal shooting by police Friday night says he's still in shock over the incident.

Police say Emmanuel Maxi, 50, was about to get gas in Danbury when he realized someone was driving off with his car.

Danbury police have identified the carjacker as 36-year-old Albert James Voute III, who had been serving a 14-year sentence for bank robbery when he escaped from U.S. Marshals in September.

State police say that Voulte was chased by police in the stolen car, then got out and started to run on foot in an area off I-84. They say Voulte aimed a gun at a state trooper, forcing the trooper to fatally shoot him in self defense.
