DARIEN - A Darien charity group is asking neighbors to step up and volunteer in its fight against poverty in Fairfield County.

Person-to-Person says it needs help at its clothing center to serve people in need.

Visiting families often empty the racks and shelves quickly, but executive director Ceci Maher says the organization can restock the center more quickly with a little help moving donated clothes.

Kelly Wheeler, who says she has been volunteering with Person-to-Person for 14 years, calls it a very rewarding experience.

"You definitely feel like you've made a difference in someone's life," Wheeler says.
