Darien photo shop closing after 63 years

DARIEN - After more than six decades of business, Fairbanks Photo in Darien is closing at the end of the month.

The store dates back to 1947.

The original owner had just returned from World War II and brought with him some black and white photos.

Since then, the business has stayed in the family and stayed in Darien.

The owners say the shaky economy and changing technology is to blame.

The owners say their doors will close June 30.
