DARIEN - The Darien police honor guard held a vigil overnight from midnight until 3:35 a.m. today to remember officer Kenneth Bateman.

He was shot and killed 30 years ago today while investigating a burglar alarm at the Duchess Restaurant along the Darien-Norwalk line.

The time of the vigil symbolized when Bateman began his shift and when he was killed.

Bateman's widow still lives in Darien and says she continues to hope that those responsible for killing her husband will one day be brought to justice.
