Darien police launch search for luxury car thieves

DARIEN - Darien police say they have launched a statewide search for the suspects responsible for stealing six luxury cars from a local dealership. Authorities say the thefts happened at BMW of Darien early Thursday morning. They say the suspects broke into the service lot and garage, ransacked the dealership building and drove off with more than $400,000 worth of vehicles. Investigators say five SUVs and one sedan were taken, and have not ruled out the fact that the burglary may have been an inside job. Police say all of the cars are dark colored. Anyone with information is asked to call Darien police at 203-662-5300.
