Darien police name most dangerous intersections

DARIEN - Darien police have identified the town?s intersections where drivers are more likely to get into an accident.

Officials say the two dangerous intersections with the most accidents are Post Road and Corbin Drive and West and Noroton avenues. These problem spots have high traffic volume, stop lights, turn-only lanes and people who aren?t familiar with the flow of traffic, police say.

According to police, one of the main causes of accidents in theses areas is drivers who aren?t paying attention. They say many serious accidents can be prevented if people slow down, leave extra distance between cars and pay attention to road signs and markers.
