DARIEN - Darien police are looking for two men who allegedly scammed at least two businesses out of money.
Authorities say the suspects asked clerks at The Learning Express and Stop & Shop on Old Kings Highway North for an exchange of money. They say in both instances, the men asked for a $100 bill in exchange for five $20 bills. When the clerks were not looking, the suspects apparently pulled out a $10 bill and insisted they were short-changed.
The clerks, apparently thinking they were mistaken, handed over another $100 bill in exchange for the $10.
