Darien police: Traffic stop yields 3 arrests

DARIEN - Police in Darien say a routine traffic stop on Post Road yesterday ended with three arrests.

Police say they pulled over a Nissan Maxima last night and discovered the driver, Stacey Sawyer, of Norwalk, had a suspended license. As the officers questioned Sawyer, her two male passengers tried to flee, but police say they quickly apprehended the pair.

One of the men, Cory Young, 23, of Bridgeport, was carrying a gun, police say. He faces multiple charges, including criminal possession of a gun and carrying a gun without a permit.

Officials say Sawyer has been charged with driving with a suspended license, while Leak was released on bond last night.
