DARIEN - Darien police are urging residents to lock up their cars tonight after a string of break-ins in the area.

Police say a total of 14 unlocked cars and SUVs in the Hollow Tree Ridge Road area were broken into early yesterday morning.

Police say a strange twist to the case is that GPS devices, cell phones and other valuables were left behind.  They say that it may be an indication the thieves were looking for garage door openers as part of a plan to later rob the house.
