DARIEN - Darien police are advising residents how not to fall victim to what they call an alarming increase of car break-ins in the area.

Authorities say there have been 39 motor vehicle burglaries over the past three and a half months, mostly in Noroton Heights. The burglars have been operating both night and day.

Residents are being advised to park in well-lit areas, lock all car doors and take their valuables inside to discourage the thieves from preying on them.
