Darien teen dies from head injury

DARIEN - Police are investigating after an accident took the life of a Darien High School graduate over the weekend.

Sean "Brendan" Shay died after suffering a serious head injury on Sunday while home for Easter. Shay apparently hit his head while falling from a moving car, authorities say. He was taken to Stamford Hospital Sunday night and died Monday.

Shay's father says he was a sophomore at Curry College in Massachusetts and was just two weeks away from his 20th birthday.

A funeral will be held on Saturday.
