'Dash' held to honor slain Fairfield jewelers

FAIRFIELD - The seventh annual Donnelly Dash, which honors two jewelry store owners killed in 2005, was held today in Fairfield.

Among the crowd today were family members of Tim and Kim Donnelly, the couple that was shot and killed by Christopher DiMeo, while inside their jewelry store in Fairfield.

DiMeo was sentenced to life in prison this month for the murders instead of being given the death penalty.

Those in charge of the Donnelly Dash say they hope to keep Tim and Kim Donnelly's memory alive through the event and plan to be back next year.
