BRIDGEPORT - Sources in Bridgeport tell News 12 Connecticut that Police Chief Joe Gaudett has reached an agreement to leave his position for another one in the city.

Sources say Capt. A.J. Perez is expected to take over as police chief. 

Gaudett has been the subject of controversy since his contract was renewed by outgoing Mayor Bill Finch.
