BURLINGTON - State wildlife officials say they have located and euthanized the young bear caught on camera acting aggressively toward a hiker last week.

Officials say the bear was tracked down at the Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area in Burlington Wednesday.

Wildlife advocates wanted the state to relocate the bear, believing it was only acting out of curiosity.

Officials say the animal had been tagged and relocated once before, and showed signs of aggression toward staff members.

According to officials, the bear had a history of aggressive behavior prior to the incident. They say the animal was tranquilized and relocated after wandering near Bradley International Airport. Officials say in another incident the bear followed a woman into a building in Windsor, and reportedly broke into a home in Granby.
