NEWTOWN - Demolition work is now underway at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Newtown's first selectwoman says the school where 20 children and six educators were killed will be removed in pieces.

Officials expect the work to take several weeks to complete.

They say it should be done before Dec. 14, which will mark one year since the shooting.
