DiMeo's ex-girlfriend records testimony from hospital bed

The former girlfriend of the man accused of killing a couple in its Fairfield jewelry store six years ago offered her testimony from a hospital

FARMINGTON - The former girlfriend of the man accused of killing a couple in its Fairfield jewelry store six years ago offered her testimony from a hospital bed this afternoon.

Christopher DiMeo is accused of shooting Fairfield jewelers Tim and Kim Donnelly back in 2005 and prosecutors have already pointed to his girlfriend, Nicole Pearce, as his main accomplice in scoping out several downtown jewelry stores.

Pearce was recently diagnosed with stage-four cervical cancer and was too ill to appear in court.  The judge, prosecutors and DiMeo's defense team headed to the University of Connecticut Medical Center in Farmington to videotape Pearce's testimony and will play it for the jury when court resumes next week.
