Dirk Lloyd charged in Darien burglary

Police say Dirk Lloyd stole more than $20,000 in gold jewelry and coins from a Darien home. (2/27/14)

DARIEN - A Bridgeport man is facing charges after police say he broke into a home in Darien and stole more than $20,000 worth of gold jewelry and coins.

Police say Dirk Lloyd, 36, burglarized the home in Darien in November.

They say police in Florida arrested Lloyd earlier this month and extradited him to New York, where he's facing several burglary charges.

Officers say Lloyd could be linked to dozens of other burglaries all over Fairfield County and New York.

They say two other local police departments will be applying for arrest warrants for him soon.
