FAIRFIELD - Emergency dispatchers in Fairfield say that while they are faced with high-pressure calls every day, one they received Monday night was unusual.

Dispatcher Elizabeth Rodriguez says in unique situations the call taker will at times use a technique in which she repeats questions, attempting to get more information for officers and firefighters responding to the scene.

Such was the case Monday night, when Robert Drawbough called 911 to report his estranged wife Helen Sun, who had allegedly handcuffed her wrist to his and started biting him.

Officials at the Fairfield Emergency Communications Center say they handled about 300 calls Monday and about a third of them dealt with emergencies.
