FAIRFIELD - Local emergency room doctors say they have been inundated with patients after temperatures began to rise into the 90s last week.

The doctors say the patients are dealing with conditions that are exacerbated by the heat, such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Doctors say they've also seen plenty of cases of dehydration, heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
