FAIRFIELD - ? Animal control officers are looking for the owners of a dog that was rescued from the banks of Ash Creek in Fairfield Wednesday.
Animal control officers say the dog never made it into the water, but needed to be rescued because its leash was caught in the ice. Authorities were alerted about the dog by a nearby resident who saw the animal shivering in the cold.
The dog, who is now doing fine, did not have a collar or dog tags. Animal control officials are now waiting for someone to come forward and claim ownership. If not, the dog will be put up for adoption after eight days.
