WESTPORT - Westport Town leaders gathered today to remind people that October is Domestic Violence Awareness month.

First Selectman Gordon Joseloff joined with police officers and members of the Westport Domestic Violence Task Force to make the proclamation on the steps of town hall this morning.

The group stressed that domestic abuse is a serious crime that affects people of all race, age, gender and income level.
