STAMFORD - The Connecticut Department of Transportation is launching a campaign to inform drivers and cyclists about road safety and state laws.

Bikers in Stamford say they have been clipped by cars and scared away from the roads by motorists who leave little room for bicycles to pass. According to the DOT, a new law says drivers must keep at least three feet between their cars and cyclists on the road.

In order to educate drivers about the laws and best safety precautions, the DOT is launching the "Share the Road" campaign to demonstrate the best driving conditions for bicycle safety.
