Driver avoids injury in Bridgeport car fire

A driver in Bridgeport managed to avoid injury this afternoon when his car suddenly caught fire while he was driving.

Police say the driver was on I-95 when the fire started.

BRIDGEPORT - A driver in Bridgeport managed to avoid injury this afternoon when his car suddenly caught fire while he was driving.

Police say the driver was on I-95 when the fire started.

He managed to exit the highway and exit the car.

The driver told police that he believes the fire started in the glove box, and may have been electrical in nature.
