DARIEN - Darien police say the driver in a hit-and-run crash has turned himself in to face charges.

Police say Paul Plepis, 89, contacted them after hearing media reports about the crash, which put a 15-year-old in the ICU. The driver's attorney says his client didn't know he had hit anyone.

Plepis is charged with evading responsibility. Police seized his car and license.

The victim, Jacob Eekhof, is now home recovering.
