NORWALK - Westport police say a man is behind bars in connection with a string of burglaries in the area.

They say the suspect recently robbed homes along Easton Road.

Police say they are not releasing the suspect's name, but say that the man confessed to the robberies and is in custody elsewhere for committing crimes in nearby towns.

"We're confident we do have the man who is responsible for the burglaries on the northeast section of town," says Westport Police Lt. David Farrell.

Westport police say there have also been reports of suspicious people knocking on doors in the Greens Farms section of town.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
