Easton woman killed in I-95 crash laid to rest

MONROE - Friends and family gathered today for the funeral of a young woman from Easton who was killed in a car accident on I-95 last week.

State police say Jessica Martucci, 20, was a passenger in the front seat of a car when it ran off the road between exits 8 and 9, hit a light pole and rolled back onto the highway. Another passenger was seriously hurt.

Police say the driver, 27-year-old Anthony Whittingham, of Norwalk, tried to run away, but was caught by police.

Authorities say Whittingham appeared to be drunk or intoxicated.

Martucci's funeral was held at Saint Jude Church in Monroe.
