STAMFORD - Stamford police are investigating a crash that killed a elderly pedestrian.

Police say an 81-year-old resident was struck by a car while crossing the road at intersection of High Ridge Road and Vine Road just before 8:30 p.m. yesterday.

Officers say the driver stopped at the scene.

They say speed was not a factor in the crash.
