Event held in New Canaan to honor fallen soldier

A challenging mud run took place in New Canaan today in the name of charity. The event took place at Kiwanis Park.

The race honored the life of Brian Brill, whose helicopter was shot down over Afghanistan in August 2011.

NEW CANAAN - A challenging mud run took place in New Canaan today in the name of charity.

The event took place at Kiwanis Park.

The race honored the life of Brian Brill, whose helicopter was shot down over Afghanistan in August 2011.

Money raised from the event will go to the Little Warriors Project, a non-profit set up by Brill's sister to help the children of fallen heroes. 

New Canaan YMCA was also behind Sunday's run.
