BRIDGEPORT - Members of Bridgeport's Catholic community are shocked following the arrest of a former priest on federal drug charges.

Investigators say Monsignor Kevin Wallin, 61, conspired to sell methamphetamine and was part of a national methamphetamine ring for at least the past four months. He is accused of receiving shipments from California and then selling the drugs to an undercover officer.

Wallin served as pastor of St. Augustine Parish in Bridgeport for nine years. He stepped down in 2011 citing health and personal reasons.

Authorities say they also arrested two men from Waterbury and Manchester, as well as two suspects from California.
