STAMFORD - News 12 Connecticut recently sat down with a former ex-con-turned-preacher who visited the First Presbyterian Church in Stamford for a special service.
When he was 23 years old, Kelly Watts was convicted of killing a friend and sentenced to 20-years-to-life in Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison.
Although Sing Sing is considered a dangerous place, it also offers a unique master?s program for inmates who want to better themselves while behind bars.
Watts says he took advantage of the program and that it drastically changed his life. Watts graduated with a Master?s of Professional Studies in Ministry.
Watts says he has one major goal left; he wants to create a scholarship program in his friend's honor.
