Ex-Milford officer sentenced in fatal crash

MILFORD - The former Milford police officer convicted in a deadly car accident was sentenced to prison today.

The judge sentenced Anderson to 10 years in prison, but suspended five years of the sentence. The judge also sentenced Anderson to serve three years probation once he is out of prison.

Jason Anderson was driving more than 90 mph when his cruiser crashed into a car carrying two 19-year-olds in 2009. He was convicted of reckless driving in the case, but acquitted of manslaughter.

Anderson posted $5,000 bond to be free while he appeals the conviction, a process that could take a year-and-a-half.
