BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police say a former EMS coordinator and nursing school teacher at Bridgeport Hospital is facing charges after four men accused him of sexual assault at the hospital's nursing school.

Officials say 62-year-old Barry Barkinsky, of Stamford, performed unapproved medical procedures on men in an office within the nursing school.

Police say their investigation began in December after a man enrolled in his course came forward. They say the victim told them Barkinsky offered to help him with his back problems by giving him chiropractic treatments at the nursing school. However, he said Barkinsky would also examine the victim's genitals while the victim was lying on a table and would secretly take pictures.

Police say they found more than 2,000 pictures in Barkinsky's home, along with fetish props and videos.

Bridgeport Hospital says Barkinsky has been fired and that none of the victims were patients of the hospital.

Barkinsky is out of jail on a $100,000 bond. He will be arraigned on sexual assault and voyeurism charges on April 19.
