BRIDGEPORT - A group of experts met with residents in Bridgeport Saturday to discuss how the city can prevent future flooding during serious storms like Superstorm Sandy.

A design team unveiled ideas to make the coast more resilient to storms, and asked for feedback.

The plan is all part of a federal initiative called Rebuild By Design that looks to jumpstart research on flooding in many coastal communities.

The design team will submit its final proposal this spring in the hope of securing funding to make the necessary changes.
