FAIRFIELD - Little Leaguers playing for Fairfield American are getting ready to represent Connecticut in the New England Regional Tournament this upcoming weekend in Bristol.

The coach says playing in the regional tournament is something the team had been working hard all season to do. He says players had even practiced during the winter to get ready.

All of that practicing led Fairfield American to win its fifth state title since 2010.

The team leaves Saturday and will have its first game in the tournament on Sunday. The winner of the New England Regional Tournament goes to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
