FAIRFIELD - Work continues on the new Penfield Pavilion in Fairfield even though it was expected to be completed already.

Town leaders had expected the pavilion would be completed by Memorial Day but winter weather delayed construction.

Officials say they now hope to have the work done by July 1.

When it's finished, the pavilion will include a concession stand, lifeguard stand and first-aid station.
