FAIRFIELD - An exhibit in Fairfield is teaching people about the country's history over the Fourth of July weekend.

The Fairfield Museum and History Center is displaying an early print of the Declaration of Independence in honor of its 240th anniversary on Monday.

The museum is home to one of only six prints made from a copper plate engraving of the Declaration, commissioned by then-Secretary of State John Quincy Adams.

The museum director says the print is on loan to the museum until July 17.

News 12 is told admission to the exhibit is free on Monday and July 10.
